About This Scholarship
Google Summer of Code is a global program that introduces university students to open-source software development by pairing them with mentors from participating organizations for a 10-week coding project during their summer break. Participants earn a stipend of $1,500–$3,300 (depending on country), gain real-world development experience, and contribute to open-source projects that benefit the wider developer community.

Who Can Apply
- 1 Must be at least 18 years old at time of registration
- 2 Must be enrolled in or accepted into a post-secondary academic program (college, university, master's program, PhD program, undergraduate program, licensed coding school, or similar) as of May 17, 2027, or have graduated between December 1, 2026, and May 17, 2027
- 3 Must be eligible to work in the country of residence during the program
- 4 Must be fluent in English
- 5 Must not have been accepted as a student in Google Summer of Code two or more times previously
- 6 Must reside in a country not currently embargoed by the United States
- 7 Open to participants from all countries worldwide
