About This Scholarship
Imperial College London offers fully funded President’s PhD Scholarships for outstanding students seeking to undertake a PhD at one of the world’s leading research institutions. The highly competitive programme provides full tuition fee funding, a generous annual stipend and additional research support for up to 3.5 years.
What This Scholarship Covers
- Full tuition fees covered
- £27,036 annual stipend (2027-28 rate)
- £2,000 annual consumables fund for the first 3 years

- Access to postgraduate support services including tailored support for disabled and international students
Who Can Apply
- 1 Must hold or be expected to obtain a first-class undergraduate or integrated Master's degree, or equivalent qualification
- 2 Alternatively, must hold or be expected to obtain a distinction in a standalone Master's degree if first-class undergraduate not achieved
- 3 Must be applying for a new PhD programme
- 4 Current registered Imperial PhD students are not eligible
- 5 Must identify and secure agreement from a proposed PhD supervisor before applying
- 6 International applicants must confirm their academic qualifications meet scholarship requirements with Imperial admissions team
- 7 Candidates with non-traditional academic or career pathways may be eligible with strong evidence of research potential
- 8 Department may nominate exceptional candidates not meeting standard criteria if documented extenuating circumstances exist
