About This Scholarship
The KAS-SAIIA Scholarship provides fully funded master’s degrees combined with a structured internship programme at top institutions in Johannesburg or Cape Town, South Africa. Successful candidates enrol in a master’s degree while simultaneously working at SAIIA, supported by mentors to develop research, writing, and professional skills.
What This Scholarship Covers
- Full tuition fees covered
- Monthly stipend for living costs and accommodation
Who Can Apply
- 1 Must meet entry requirements for a master's degree at the relevant university
- 2 Must not be older than 30 years
- 3 Must not have already completed the first year of a master's programme
- 4 Must apply for either Johannesburg or Cape Town location (dual applications not considered)
- 5 Johannesburg applicants: must be admitted to a master's programme at the University of the Witwatersrand in International Relations, Development Studies, Political Science, Economics, Law, Journalism, or related humanities and social sciences
- 6 Cape Town applicants: must be admitted to a master's programme in Political Science at University of Cape Town, Stellenbosch University, or University of the Western Cape
