About This Scholarship
The McGill University Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program provides fully funded Master’s degrees for gifted leaders and changemakers from Africa who aspire to transform nutrition, public health, public policy, and sustainable agriculture across the continent. The program covers all costs including tuition, housing, stipend, and pre-arrival support for 35 scholarships available annually across 13 graduate programs.

Who Can Apply
- 1 Be admissible to one of the eligible programs at McGill University
- 2 Have never registered for or completed a Master's degree
- 3 Be a citizen of and live in an African country
- 4 Have a valid passport and be admissible to Canada as an International Student (requiring a Study Permit)
- 5 Not have dual citizenship, asylee, refugee, or permanent resident status in the US, Canada, UK or EU
- 6 Have an exceptional record of service, leadership, and activity in school and/or community
- 7 Demonstrate a desire to give back to home community
- 8 Demonstrate that financial constraints have prevented or restricted educational opportunities
- 9 Be 35 years or younger at time of application
- 10 Hold a bachelor's degree (or equivalent as recognized by McGill University) in a subject closely related to the program selected for graduate studies
