About This Scholarship
The Miles Morland Foundation Writing Scholarship supports African writers preparing to write a new book by providing financial assistance throughout the writing process. The scholarship is open to writers working in the English language who were born in Africa or whose both parents were born in Africa.
What This Scholarship Covers
- £18,000 grant paid monthly over 12 months
- Mentoring by established authors or publishers
- Possibility of extended funding up to 18 months for non-fiction writers requiring research
Who Can Apply
- 1 Must write in the English language
- 2 Must have been born in Africa, or both parents must have been born in Africa
- 3 Must have previously published work that has been made available for sale
