About This Scholarship
The Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) in Portugal is opening its annual call for fully funded PhD studentships to support research activities leading to a PhD degree across all scientific fields. The award provides monthly allowance, tuition fees, training support, travel costs, and personal accident insurance for doctoral candidates meeting merit-based criteria.

Who Can Apply
- 1 Must be enrolled or eligible to enroll in a PhD program
- 2 Must not have previously benefited from any PhD studentship funded directly by FCT
- 3 Must not hold a doctoral degree
- 4 Must reside in Portugal on a permanent and habitual basis if applying for a studentship carried out both in Portugal and abroad or entirely abroad
- 5 Must be a Portuguese citizen, EU citizen, third-country national, stateless person, or political refugee
- 6 Must meet all admissibility requirements outlined in section 4 of the Notice of the Call
