About This Scholarship
The Chinese Government Scholarship–High-Level Graduate Program at Sun Yat-sen University (SYSU) is a fully funded initiative for international students to pursue Master’s or Ph.D. degrees at one of China’s top universities. The program covers all major expenses including tuition fees, accommodation, living allowances, and medical insurance.

Who Can Apply
- 1 Be a non-Chinese citizen with a valid foreign passport
- 2 For Master's program: Hold a bachelor's degree equivalent to that of Chinese universities and be 35 years old or younger
- 3 For Ph.D. program: Hold a master's degree equivalent to that of Chinese universities and be 40 years old or younger
- 4 Be in good health and meet the physical standards required for a student visa or residence permit
- 5 Have a clean record with no violations of school rules, criminal records, or security penalties
- 6 For Chinese-taught programs: Provide an HSK Level 5 certificate with a score of 180 or above or proof of completing courses taught in Chinese
- 7 For English-taught programs: Submit valid English proficiency test scores such as TOEFL (minimum 79 iBT) or IELTS (minimum 6.5)
- 8 Demonstrate friendliness toward China, academic diligence, and excellent performance in previous studies
