About This Scholarship
UBC devotes more than $35 million annually to scholarships, awards, and financial support for international undergraduate students, recognizing academic excellence, extracurricular involvement, and leadership potential. Multiple award categories are available including the International Major Entrance Scholarship (IMES), Outstanding International Student Award (OIS), and the International Scholars Program with values ranging from $5,000 to $25,000 per year.
What This Scholarship Covers
- International Major Entrance Scholarship: $10,000–$25,000/year (renewable up to 4 years)
- Outstanding International Student Award: $10,000–$25,000 (one-time award)
- UBC Okanagan Global Elevation Award: $8,000 (renewable up to 4 years)
- UBC Okanagan International Welcome Award: $5,000 (first-year tuition credit)
- International Scholars Program: Full support including mentorship, advising, and leadership development
Who Can Apply
- 1 Must be a new international student entering UBC directly from secondary school or post-secondary institutions
- 2 Must hold a valid Canadian study permit (student visa)
- 3 Must demonstrate academic excellence
- 4 Must demonstrate extracurricular involvement and community involvement
- 5 Must apply to UBC by the admissions deadline
- 6 Must be from one of 108+ countries represented among award recipients
