The Graduate Research Scholarships support outstanding researchers to pursue a Master’s by Research or PhD at the University of Melbourne. The award combines a full tuition-fee offset with a living allowance and other benefits so you can focus on impactful research at one of Australia’s leading universities.

What the Scholarship Covers

  • Tuition-fee offset: Up to 2 years (Master’s by Research) and up to 4 years (Doctoral).
  • Living allowance: Paid at the current University rate for up to 2 years (Master’s by Research) or up to 3.5 years (Doctoral), pro-rata for part-time where approved.
  • Relocation grant: Support for candidates moving to Melbourne (higher amount for international relocation).
  • OSHC: Single-membership Overseas Student Health Cover for eligible international students who require a student visa.
