About This Scholarship
The Visiting PhD Fellowship Programme gives registered doctoral students the opportunity to utilize UNU-WIDER’s resources and facilities for their PhD dissertation or thesis research on developing economies, and to work with the institute’s researchers. Fellows typically spend three consecutive months at UNU-WIDER, prepare research papers, and present seminars on their findings.
What This Scholarship Covers
- Travel grant covering costs from PhD granting institution or country of residence
- Medical insurance for sickness and accident during stay
- Monthly stipend of EUR 2,100 to cover living expenses in Helsinki
Who Can Apply
- 1 Must be enrolled in a PhD programme
- 2 Must have demonstrated ability to conduct research on developing economies
- 3 Must be fluent in oral and written English
- 4 Must possess good quantitative and/or qualitative analytical skills
- 5 Applications from early-career, female, and developing country researchers are particularly encouraged
- 6 Programme is especially addressed at researchers at later stages of their PhD
