About This Scholarship
The University of Sydney Scholarship 2026-27 is a fully funded scholarship for international students pursuing Higher Degree by Research (HDR) programs, including Master’s by Research and PhD degrees. The scholarship covers full tuition fees, living stipend, relocation allowance, thesis support, and health cover for up to 3.5 years.

Who Can Apply
- 1 Applicants from all countries can apply
- 2 Must demonstrate English language proficiency
- 3 Must apply for a Higher Degree by Research (HDR) program at the University of Sydney
- 4 Must undertake research in areas identified within the university's current and emerging research strengths
- 5 Must be an international student commencing full-time enrollment in an HDR program
- 6 Must not have held an Australia Award scholarship within two years before starting the RTP scholarship
- 7 Must not have previously received an RTP Fee Scholarship unless it was for a completed master's by research degree
- 8 Must not hold a qualification equivalent to an Australian Research Doctorate
- 9 Research master's applicants must not hold a qualification equivalent to or higher than an Australian Research Master's degree
- 10 Must not have been considered for the scholarship more than three times within the last five years
- 11 Must not receive another scholarship covering tuition fees funded substantially by the Australian government
