About This Scholarship
The Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program provides talented young Africans with the opportunity to pursue a fully funded one-year master’s degree at the University of Cambridge while developing their leadership potential. Successful scholars receive comprehensive financial support including full tuition fees and a monthly maintenance allowance, with a focus on climate resilience and sustainability.

Who Can Apply
- 1 Be a citizen of an African country
- 2 Be resident in an African country, unless temporarily absent for study or work (exception for internally displaced persons or refugees)
- 3 Hold a bachelor's degree
- 4 Meet the academic entry requirements of the chosen course (typically UK upper second-class degree or equivalent, some courses require higher standards)
- 5 Apply for an eligible full-time one-year postgraduate course (excluding MBA, MCL, MFIN, MACC)
- 6 Demonstrate commitment to giving back to your community, home country or Africa, and to the themes of sustainability and climate resilience
- 7 Women, refugees, internally displaced persons, and people with disabilities are particularly encouraged to apply
