About This Scholarship

The DDC x TrygFonden Fellowship Program fosters collaboration between researchers, journalists, and policymakers in exploring the impact of digital technology and AI on media, politics, and democracy. Selected fellows will work with a mentor at the Digital Democracy Centre to generate new knowledge, contribute to public debate, develop networks, and produce tangible outputs such as policy briefs, educational packages, and talks.

What This Scholarship Covers

  • Travel expenses (flights, trains, conference hotels, fieldwork, project meetings)
  • Accommodation in Odense for shorter stays
  • Subsistence support for meals and living expenses during fellowship stays
  • Stipend or short-term employment salary compensation
  • Research costs (surveys, transcription, data access, software, participant compensation)
  • Events and outreach funding
  • Equipment for project needs

Who Can Apply

  • 1 Applicants may be academic researchers, journalists, or policy fellows
  • 2 Projects should have clear relevance to Denmark or Danish society
  • 3 Comparative or international projects that generate insights relevant to Danish context will be prioritized
  • 4 In 2027, projects related to DDC's Hybrid Warfare Initiative are prioritized
  • 5 Must demonstrate collaboration potential with a mentor at DDC

How to Apply

Submit budget form complying with University of Southern Denmark (SDU) rules and procedures
