About This Scholarship

The Regional Community Organizing Institute is a prestigious training and capacity development programme hosted by Yiaga Africa that equips emerging and mid-career leaders with practical tools to drive social change, strengthen democratic institutions, and build resilient communities across West Africa. The programme brings together approximately 30-35 outstanding participants from West African countries who are working to advance democratic practices and economic and legal reform in contexts where freedom, human development, and good governance are fragile or at risk.

Who Can Apply

  • 1 Must be a citizen or resident of an eligible West African country (Benin, Burkina Faso, Cape Verde, The Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Ivory Coast, Liberia, Mali, Niger, Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Togo)
  • 2 Must be an emerging or mid-career civic activist, community organizer, or leader
