About This Scholarship
The Hanjo Foundation Scholarship 2027 provides financial support and research opportunities for international master’s and PhD students at prestigious Japanese universities. Recipients receive substantial monthly stipends, conference travel grants, and access to a global scholarly community with cultural exchange opportunities.
What This Scholarship Covers
- Monthly stipend of ¥210,000 for 1-2 year programs
- Monthly stipend of ¥190,000 for 3-year programs
- Monthly stipend of ¥160,000 for 4-5 year programs
- Grants for travel to academic conferences in Japan and beyond
- Access to global scholarly community
- Participation in conferences, seminars, and cultural events
Who Can Apply
- 1 Must not be a citizen of Japan
- 2 Must be enrolled in or planning to enroll in a graduate program at a Japanese institution
- 3 Master's degree applicants must be under 30 years old
- 4 PhD candidates must be at least 35 years old
- 5 Must demonstrate outstanding academic achievement and research potential
- 6 Must demonstrate dedication to advancing their country of origin
- 7 Should encourage friendship and cross-cultural interaction
- 8 Basic command of Japanese language for everyday communication is ideal
- 9 Cannot receive any other scholarship during the scholarship period
