About This Scholarship
The Sexual Violence Research Initiative (SVRI) has launched the Data to Evidence Grant 2027 to fund researchers in low- and middle-income countries to conduct secondary analysis of existing datasets on violence against women and child sexual violence. Instead of financing new data collection, this grant pays researchers to unlock evidence already sitting in existing datasets through focused, well-defined research questions.
What This Scholarship Covers
- USD 30,000–50,000 per grant
- Up to 12 months of funding from the signed grant agreement
Who Can Apply
- 1 Lead applicant must be based at an LMIC-based university or research institution per World Bank classifications
- 2 Proposal must be led by a researcher or research team based in an LMIC
- 3 Must propose analysis of a dataset relevant to violence against women (VAW) or child sexual violence (CSV)
- 4 Dataset must be ethically sourced with necessary approval to access and use
- 5 Must demonstrate familiarity with secondary data analysis methods
- 6 Must clearly articulate the evidence gap the analysis will address
- 7 Must show how findings will contribute to policy, practice, or the evidence base on VAW/CSV
