About This Scholarship
The Yenching Academy Fellowship is a prestigious, fully funded Master’s programme that brings together approximately 120 talented scholars annually from across the globe to study contemporary and historical China within an interdisciplinary academic environment at Peking University in Beijing. Scholars engage with world-class faculty, policymakers, and researchers while combining rigorous coursework with research, field studies, leadership development, and cross-cultural exchange.
What This Scholarship Covers

- Funding for field study activities and academic excursions
Who Can Apply
- 1 Hold a Bachelor's degree in any field, or be in the final year of undergraduate study with graduation expected before August of the intended enrollment year
- 2 Demonstrate an outstanding academic record
- 3 Show a strong interest in interdisciplinary studies related to China
- 4 Have evidence of leadership, extracurricular achievement, community engagement, and social responsibility
- 5 Meet English language proficiency requirements (IELTS Academic 7.0, TOEFL iBT 100, Cambridge 185, CET 6 600, or TEM 4 Pass level, or be a native English speaker or graduate of English-taught degree program)
- 6 Be a non-Chinese citizen holding a valid passport, or if formerly a citizen of Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macao, or Taiwan, provide documentation demonstrating eligibility under Peking University's international student regulations
