About This Scholarship
The Commonwealth Master’s Scholarships enable talented individuals from eligible low and middle-income Commonwealth countries to pursue full-time taught Master’s degrees at UK universities. The scholarship is funded by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) and aims to support candidates who could not otherwise afford to study in the UK, with study beginning in September/October 2027.
What This Scholarship Covers
- Return airfare
- Full tuition fees covered
- Monthly stipend
- Warm clothes allowance
- Thesis allowance
- Additional study travel grants
- Child allowance (£622 for first child, £154 per month for second and third child under age 16, if widowed, divorced, or single parent)
- Disability allowance (if applicable)
Who Can Apply
- 1 Must be a national or permanent resident of an eligible low or middle-income Commonwealth country
- 2 Must have completed a first degree equivalent to a UK bachelor's degree
- 3 Must be applying for a full-time taught Master's programme
- 4 Must not have previously studied for a degree in the UK for one year or more
- 5 Must demonstrate academic excellence and identifiable potential for leadership
