About This Scholarship
The Allianz Climate Risk Award is a global research award supporting PhD candidates and post-doctoral researchers whose work explores the nexus between climate change and extreme weather events, and fosters resilience solutions. Winners receive monetary prizes and funded travel to Munich, Germany to present their research at the award ceremony.
What This Scholarship Covers
- Monetary prize (€7,000 for Global Award winner, €3,000 for finalists; €7,000 for Regional and Thematic Award winners)
- Funded trip to Munich, Germany for award event presentation
- Publication in Allianz Compendium on allianz.com (for shortlisted applicants)
Who Can Apply
- 1 Must be a PhD candidate or post-doctoral researcher
- 2 Research must focus on understanding and mitigating risks of extreme weather events intensified by climate change, or fostering resilience through technological solutions
- 3 For Regional Spotlight (Asia): research must have direct applicability to Asian countries and economies
- 4 For Thematic Spotlight (Allianz Trade): research must link climate change and extreme weather to global trade, trade credit, and supply chains
