About This Scholarship
The Arturo Falaschi Postdoctoral Fellowships is a fully funded 2-year research fellowship (with possibility of 1-year extension) for postdoctoral scientists to conduct research at ICGEB centres in Trieste, New Delhi, or Cape Town. Upon completion, successful fellows are eligible to apply for ICGEB Early Career Research Grants to support their own research programs as young Principal Investigators.
What This Scholarship Covers
- Monthly stipend (€2,300 in Trieste; US$1,749 in New Delhi; ZAR 25,000 in Cape Town)
- Return travel provision from home country to ICGEB lab and back
- Medical health insurance coverage for fellowship duration
- All research costs covered by research group budget
- Visa/permit of stay application and renewal costs reimbursed
- Accommodation support (guest house in New Delhi; arranged accommodation in Cape Town; housing contact list provided in Trieste)
- Support for participation in meetings and courses
Who Can Apply
- 1 Must be a national of an ICGEB Member State
- 2 May not apply for fellowships to be undertaken in country of origin unless working abroad for at least 3 years prior to application
- 3 Must hold a recent PhD in Life Sciences
- 4 Must have at least 3 years of research experience
- 5 Fluent in English
- 6 Preference given to candidates below age 35
