About This Scholarship

The Coimbra Group offers fully funded short-term research visits lasting one to three months at leading European universities for early-career researchers and academic staff from Sub-Saharan Africa. The programme promotes international research collaboration, academic exchange, and institutional partnerships while enabling scholars to work with experienced researchers and access world-class facilities.

What This Scholarship Covers

  • International travel support
  • Health insurance during the research visit
  • Monthly living stipend (up to €2,100 per month depending on host university)
  • Access to advanced laboratories, research facilities, specialist libraries, and archives

Who Can Apply

  • 1 Must be academic staff or early-career researcher
