About This Scholarship

The Global Youth Mental Health Research Fellowship is an international training and research programme designed to support the next generation of leaders in youth mental health across Pakistan, Indonesia, and Colombia. The fellowship combines academic training, practical research experience, mentoring, and cross-country collaboration over 12 months (June 2026 to May 2027).

What This Scholarship Covers

  • Structured training curriculum in global mental health foundations, research methods, ethics and safeguarding, community and policy engagement, randomized controlled trials, data analysis, and publication strategies

  • Global mentoring from experts in Pakistan, Indonesia, Colombia and international mental health leaders
  • Peer writing groups and cross-country knowledge exchange

Who Can Apply

  • 1 Must be an early-career psychiatrist, psychologist, academic in mental health, allied health professional, or professional working with young people in health or education settings
  • 2 Must have completed at least 16 years of education
  • 3 Must have no more than 5 years of work experience in mental health
  • 4 Must be a young person with lived experience of mental health problems (alternative eligibility path)
  • 5 Must be based in Pakistan, Indonesia, or Colombia
  • 6 Must be available to commit full-time for at least 12 months (1 June 2026 – 30 May 2027)
