About This Scholarship
The iDiv Fellowship Programme 2026 supports visiting scientists working in biodiversity-related fields to engage in collaborative, interdisciplinary research at the German Centre for Integrative Biodiversity Research. Selected fellows participate actively in the institute’s intellectual community for stays of up to one year, sharing expertise while developing impactful research outputs.
What This Scholarship Covers
- Monthly stipend of up to €3,500 depending on funding sources, location, and individual needs
- Monthly child allowance (€400 for first child, €100 for each additional child)
- One round trip airfare per fellow
Who Can Apply
- 1 Senior researchers of any nationality holding a position in an academic institution, free-standing research institution, scientific society, governmental or policy agency, or non-governmental organisation
- 2 Must have at least one iDiv Member as a host, ideally based at the iDiv Core Centre
- 3 Must commit to spending at least 50% of time in residence at the iDiv Core Centre in Leipzig
- 4 Must be working in biodiversity research aligned with iDiv Science Strategy
- 5 Applicants from underrepresented research regions are especially encouraged
