About This Scholarship
The IJP Middle East Programme offers a two-month travel and work fellowship for young journalists from the Middle East to work at German media outlets and gain insights into German political and social issues. The fellowship includes an introductory conference in Berlin, a German language course, and a two-month placement at a host media outlet, with participants building professional networks with German colleagues.
What This Scholarship Covers
- 5,000 Euro stipend (including 1,000 Euro travel allowance)
- Two-week intensive German language course (all costs covered)
- Two-month placement at German media outlet
- Accommodation during introductory conference
Who Can Apply
- 1 Citizen of Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Palestinian Territories, or Israel
- 2 Aged between 21 and 37 years
- 3 Working as a regular employee, trainee, or journalist for established media outlets
- 4 Very good knowledge of English required
- 5 Knowledge of German is welcomed but not essential
