About This Scholarship
The JAPAN STUDY SUPPORT Scholarship (JPSS) is a financial aid program provided by the Government of Japan for international students who wish to pursue undergraduate or postgraduate degrees in Japanese universities. It offers 300,000 yen financial support during the first year of study to help cover tuition, living, and accommodation expenses.

Who Can Apply
- 1 Must have a registered JPSS My Page account
- 2 Must be enrolled or planning to enroll in a Japanese university or graduate school between September-November 2025 or April-May 2026
- 3 Must have received a JPSS Scout message from the university
- 4 Must be able to interview in Japanese or English
- 5 Must hold a Japanese bank account (in applicant's name; internet banks not accepted)
- 6 Must not be a Japanese citizen
- 7 Must not be enrolled in preparatory courses or short-term study abroad programs
