About This Scholarship
The LLM in Human Rights and Democratisation in Africa is a prestigious one-year intensive Master’s degree where 25-30 exceptional individuals spend six months in Pretoria and six months at one of 12 partner universities across Africa. The programme trains human rights experts taught by eminent lecturers in the field through formal lectures and practical training exercises.

Who Can Apply
- 1 Must be a citizen of an African country
- 2 For LLM option: Must hold a degree allowing access to the legal profession
- 3 For MPhil option: Must hold an Honours degree in a discipline relevant to human rights and democratisation
- 4 Must have excellent academic credentials
- 5 Must demonstrate human rights experience or interest
- 6 Must have good working knowledge of English
