About This Scholarship
The Manaaki New Zealand Scholarships provide fully funded opportunities for citizens of developing countries to study in New Zealand or at selected Pacific universities. The program supports undergraduate, postgraduate, and preparatory studies, aiming to build capacity and foster development impact in scholars’ home countries.
What This Scholarship Covers

- Living stipend (NZ$25,448 per year)
- Comprehensive medical insurance
- Travel costs (including visa reimbursement)
- Conference participation support
Who Can Apply
- 1 Be a citizen of eligible developing countries (Pacific, Asia, Africa, Caribbean, Latin America)
- 2 Be resident in home country for at least two years prior to applying
- 3 Be 18 years or older (preference for applicants under 40 years old)
- 4 Hold relevant academic qualifications (Bachelor's degree for Master's applicants, Master's degree for PhD applicants)
- 5 Meet English language requirements (TOEFL/IELTS or equivalent)
- 6 Have at least one year of work experience (for postgraduate applicants)
- 7 Commit to returning home after studies to contribute to national development
