About This Scholarship
The Matter to Life Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program (MtL-URO) offers a fully funded 10-week research internship for Bachelor’s students to conduct hands-on research in a Matter to Life faculty laboratory across various German cities. The program provides financial support for travel, accommodation, and living allowance while students gain practical experience with cutting-edge scientific methods under the supervision of esteemed researchers.
What This Scholarship Covers

Who Can Apply
- 1 Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's/undergraduate degree programme
- 2 Remain enrolled throughout the entire 10-week internship
- 3 Completed at least 1.5 semesters of degree by time of application
- 4 Completed at least two semesters by beginning of internship
- 5 Minimum GPA of 1.7
- 6 Academic background in biology, chemistry, physics, informatics, materials science, engineering, bioengineering, or related field
- 7 Genuine interest in research in the Matter to Life field
