About This Scholarship

The NIMS Internship Program provides undergraduate and graduate students with practical technical experience in cutting-edge research activities in materials science at Japan’s National Institute of Materials Science. The program accepts approximately 100 students annually from around the world and aims to enhance visibility of NIMS and its Joint Graduate School Program.

What This Scholarship Covers

  • Daily allowance
  • Accommodation fees (excluding utilities)

Who Can Apply

  • 1 Must be a current undergraduate or graduate student
  • 2 All nationalities are eligible
  • 3 Must not hold another Japanese government-funded scholarship (MEXT, JSPS, JST) without confirmation from scholarship provider
  • 4 Must secure acceptance from a NIMS researcher

NIMS researcher may request reference letter from your supervisor
