About This Scholarship

The Old Mutual Chartered Accounting Bursary Programme supports exceptional South African learners pursuing studies in Chartered Accounting at SAICA-accredited institutions. The programme provides comprehensive financial support throughout university, personal development opportunities, vacation work, networking, and guaranteed employment post-graduation with Old Mutual.

Who Can Apply

  • 1 Must be a South African citizen
  • 2 Must have at least 70% in Mathematics
  • 3 Must have at least 60% in English HL or 70% in English FAL
  • 4 Must have acceptance from a SAICA-accredited tertiary institution (Nelson Mandela University, North-West University, Rhodes University, Stellenbosch University, University of Cape Town, University of Fort Hare, University of Johannesburg, University of Kwa-Zulu Natal, University of Pretoria, University of South Africa, University of the Free State, University of the Western Cape, University of the Witwatersrand, or Milpark Business School)
  • 5 Must be committed to entering the Old Mutual Chartered Accounting Training (OMCAT) Programme
  • 6 Parental/guardian consent required if under 18
  • 7 Preference given to candidates from under-represented designated groups and those from previously disadvantaged backgrounds or with demonstrated financial need
