About This Scholarship
The Opeoluwa Sotonwa Foundation provides financial support to Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) students in Nigerian higher institutions to help them complete their degree programmes. The scholarship removes financial barriers and empowers eligible students through varying levels of funding, with a special track (Konyinsola Ajayi Fellowship) for law students with disabilities.
What This Scholarship Covers
- Up to ₦100,000 per recipient (OSF Scholarship Scheme)
- Up to ₦200,000 for law students with disabilities (Konyinsola Ajayi Fellowship)
- Mentorship opportunities
- Ambassador opportunities with the Foundation
Who Can Apply
- 1 Must be Deaf or Hard of Hearing with proof from the institution or a DHH student association
- 2 Must be indigent and in need of financial assistance
- 3 Must be a 200-level or above student in a Nigerian degree-conferring higher institution
- 4 Must have a minimum CGPA of 2.5
- 5 Must submit a two-page personal statement or a 3-5 minute sign language video describing life goals and aspirations
- 6 For Konyinsola Ajayi Fellowship: must be a Law (LLB) student with proof of disability
- 7 Must be willing to act as a mentor and ambassador for the Foundation
