About This Scholarship
Queen’s University Belfast offers multiple scholarship schemes for undergraduate and postgraduate students from Sub-Saharan Africa, with automatic awards ranging from £1,500 to £6,000 depending on the programme and eligibility criteria. Scholarships are awarded upon enrolment to eligible new international students without requiring a separate application process.

Who Can Apply
- 1 Must be normally residing in Sub-Saharan African countries (Angola, Botswana, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Gambia, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Nigeria, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, Somalia, South Africa, Sudan, Swaziland, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, or Zimbabwe)
- 2 Must be a new international student
- 3 Must be enrolled in a full-time undergraduate or postgraduate taught programme
- 4 Must hold an unconditional offer for 2026/27 (for Early Confirmation Award)
- 5 Some exclusions apply, including Queen's Business School PGT programmes for postgraduate scholarship
