About This Scholarship
The UNFCCC CAPACITY Fellowship Programme is a one-year fellowship designed to strengthen climate expertise and negotiation capacity among mid-career professionals from Lusophone Small Island Developing States (SIDS) and Least Developed Countries (LDCs). The fellow will be placed within the Adaptation Division in Bonn, Germany, working on climate adaptation planning, international negotiations, and capacity building initiatives.

- Monthly stipend of EUR 4,500
- Travel costs to and from Bonn
- Exposure to international climate negotiations
- Experience within a leading international organization
- Professional development and training
Who Can Apply
- 1 Master's degree in environmental science, economics, engineering, development studies, or a related field; or bachelor's degree plus two additional years of relevant experience
- 2 Minimum of three years of professional experience in climate change-related work
- 3 Demonstrated involvement in adaptation planning or implementation
- 4 Proficiency in English (written and spoken)
- 5 Knowledge of another UN language is an advantage
- 6 Currently employed in a governmental or national institution
- 7 National of a Lusophone SIDS or LDC (Angola, Cabo Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Mozambique, São Tomé and Príncipe, or Timor-Leste)
- 8 Maximum age of 40 years at the application deadline
