About This Scholarship

The Rhodes Scholarship is the oldest international scholarship programme in the world, enabling outstanding young people from eligible East African countries to undertake full-time postgraduate study at the University of Oxford. The scholarship is merit-based and aims to develop public-spirited leaders while promoting international understanding and peace through an international community of scholars.

Who Can Apply

  • 1 Must be a citizen of Burundi, Rwanda, South Sudan, Tanzania, or Uganda
  • 2 Must meet the Rhodes Scholarship selection criteria focused on intellectual ability, character, commitment to service, and potential for leadership
  • 3 Must be eligible to undertake full-time postgraduate study at the University of Oxford
  • 4 Must have completed an undergraduate degree or equivalent qualification

How to Apply
