About This Scholarship

The Digital Minds Career Development Fellowships support individuals exploring careers in research, policy, and practice concerning the consciousness, sentience, moral status, and welfare of artificial intelligence systems. The programme provides financial support, professional development, and networking opportunities for emerging researchers, policymakers, communicators, entrepreneurs, and practitioners working on AI sentience-related issues.

What This Scholarship Covers

  • Stipend tailored to duration of fellowship, cost of living, and prior experience
  • Additional funding for research activities and logistical expenses on a case-by-case basis
  • Networking opportunities with experts in the field

Who Can Apply

  • 1 Must be a citizen or resident of a grant-eligible country as listed in the application form
  • 2 Should demonstrate serious engagement with digital sentience and AI consciousness questions
  • 3 Should demonstrate understanding of how digital minds research intersects with broader AI risk discussions
  • 4 Should have professional achievements, academic accomplishments, or employment history demonstrating capacity for impactful work
