About This Scholarship

The Human Rights Scholarship is available to students undertaking graduate research in the field of human rights at the University of Melbourne. The scholarship supports Master by research and Doctor of Philosophy candidates committed to the peaceful advancement of respect for human rights.

Who Can Apply

  • 1 Must be enrolled in or have applied for a graduate research course (Master by research or Doctor of Philosophy) at the University of Melbourne
  • 2 Proposed research must be in the field of Human Rights
  • 3 Must demonstrate involvement and commitment to the peaceful advancement of respect for human rights extending beyond academic studies
  • 4 Must provide at least one reference letter from a qualified person confirming involvement in and commitment to human rights

How to Apply

Complete the application form with personal details and Student ID

Confirm eligibility (graduate research course enrollment and human rights field)

Write a statement (maximum 1000 words) explaining involvement and commitment to peaceful advancement of respect for human rights

Upload at least one reference letter from a qualified person with their contact details

Provide the course name and title of proposed research

Explain how research will further understanding of human rights (maximum 500 words)
