About This Scholarship

KDU Global offers full and partial undergraduate scholarships to students from East African Community member countries for four-year bachelor’s degree programs in business, hospitality, computing, and artificial intelligence fields. The scholarship covers tuition, accommodation, airfare, and health insurance for full recipients, with partial scholarships covering tuition fees based on academic performance.

What This Scholarship Covers

  • Full Scholarships: Tuition fee ($8,000/year for 4 years)
  • Dormitory fee ($4,400 for first 2 years)
  • Return airfare
  • Health insurance (monthly for 4 years)
  • Partial Scholarships: Tuition fee waiver for first semester ($4,000)
  • Subsequent semesters based on academic performance (30%-100% scholarship depending on grades)
  • Students may seek part-time employment

Who Can Apply

  • 1 Citizen and resident of East African Community Partner States (Burundi, Kenya, Rwanda, South Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda, Democratic Republic of Congo, Somalia)
  • 2 Completion of pre-university level of education in home country in 2024, 2025, or 2026
  • 3 Excellent academic performance with minimum 'B' grade in mathematics and English modules
  • 4 English Proficiency Certificate (IELTS 5.5 or TOEFL 71 or higher) mandatory for admission and visa
  • 5 Full Scholarship applicants: 6-month bank statement and balance certificate from sponsor showing over USD 5,000
  • 6 Partial Scholarship applicants: 6-month bank statement and balance certificate from sponsor showing over USD 16,000
  • 7 Sponsor must be parents, applicant, or biological siblings (if parents deceased)
  • 8 Not older than 22 years of age
