About This Scholarship
The GSK Africa Open Lab Postgraduate Fellowship is a fully funded 12-month opportunity for early-career African scientists to gain hands-on experience in biostatistics and health data science at the Medical Research Council Unit The Gambia. Fellows will work on active research programmes in clinical trials, epidemiology, modelling, machine learning, and bioinformatics while receiving mentorship from experienced researchers.

Who Can Apply
- 1 Be a national and resident of a Sub-Saharan African country
- 2 Hold a BSc (minimum 2:1 or equivalent) in Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field
- 3 Hold an MSc (GPA ≥ 3.2 or equivalent) in Biostatistics, Health Data Science, or a related discipline
- 4 Have at least 1 year of relevant work experience
- 5 Be able to code in R, Stata, or SAS (or willing to improve)
- 6 Demonstrate proficiency in English
- 7 Applicants with a PhD are also encouraged to apply
